Take
a tour of Highbrae Guesthouse, hold your mouse over each
pic for a description.

Highbrae was originally built on the Dunedin Cable Car
Route in 1908. Today it has been carefully restored to
preserve the original architecture.
This outside picture taken from High St forms our first
impression of what is to come as we step through the
solid, native timber door that still hangs true despite
nearly 100 years of use.

Native timbers and original fixtures are a key feature of
this home. The entrance lobby is tastefully furnished in
keeping with the original art nouveau style and the
native wood banisters and panelling really have to be
seen to do justice to their beauty.
The
polished wooden floors and original fireplace, one of
four within Highbrae, can be seen in these pictures of
the lounge and breakfast area.
Help yourself to a
complimentary tea or coffee, relax in front of the fire,
take in some television or breakfast at one of the tables
reading a newspaper whilst taking in the sea views.

In
addition to the
downstairs bathroom and toilet, Highbrae has a
spectacular modernised Italian bathroom complete with

large old bath,
modern shower, wooden vanity, brass plumbing and polished
native timber floors.

The bedrooms are equally luxurious, beginning
with 'The King Room', with king size bed furnished in
rich navy and gold linen.

The King room has an
additional single bed available if required for an extra guest or child.
