Highbrae Guesthouse is situated at 376 High Street, near the heart of the City of Dunedin, which today has a resident population of about 110,000. During the nineteenth century gold-rush it was New Zealand's largest city. Thanks to this early development and investment in education facilities, libraries, museums, galleries and of course the University of Otago, it is a city of culture and learning, annually invaded by around 20,000 students.
